Some tea for you, Mr. President?

This Blog is written in English, mostly because the topic takes place in america, and I am currently living in the Bronx, New York. Yesterday I spent my evening watching the "State Of The Union" (for my austrian readers: Obama held a speech about the budget plans for the next two years) I must say, the speech was amazing! He presented his main issues (research and innovation, education and infrastructure) and even said a lot about the enviroment. I think these were great plans, but was a little disappointed that he didn't say a lot about the healthcare.

10 minutes after the speech, which was over an hour long, the Republicans responded per television. A young, not unattractive Republican held a speech about how huge America's debt is, and that one must cut the spendings, basically saying that all of Obama's talk about investing into education and infrastructure is bullshit. What I don't understand, is that if the Republicans are such big Sparefrohs (people who save  lot of money) and if the debt is so crazy high, why they still want to lower taxes.

With an expression on his face like your kid just died, Ryan compared America's economic situation to Greece and Ireland. Seriously?! That's like comparing apples to a frying pan (oranges would not be enough to emphasise the difference) Hey guys guess what, Greece's economy is tiny, and we have the EU to support it. You're in less trouble than Ryan wants you to think! What a surprise, I didn't like the Republican Response, i found him a very icky guy who said a lot of stupid stuff and didn't respond to Obama's speech in any way. He kept talking about America's economy collapsing; come on, if your economy collapses the world economy collapses! We've seen and felt it, probably more than you Mister.

But then I saw another response that made Ryan's look like Einstein presenting the theory of relativism: the Tea Party Response by Michelle Bachmann. Again for Austrians, she is a shrill extreme Republican b**** whose IQ may be higher than Sarah Palins,  but as we all know, a fly could compete with her. (Since I'm not American I see myself in a position in which I can curse on some people in the gouvernment ;)) She seemed like talking to Pre-K kids, she would call healthcare "Obamacare", basically she wanted to make every liberal watching her vomit. At some point of her "speech" the picture of the Constitution (like the Staatsvertrag), changed into a big graph of the debt under Bush and under Obama. Unfortunately, what she forgot to mention was that (under Bush, the REPUBLICAN) the world economy collapsed. Ooops!
Then she said something, that turned the whole speech into a comedy: that America already has the best healthcare system. Tellya' what Chelle: Our economies work eventhough everyone has health insurance and no one dies because he can't afford treatment. BUHYAH!

Turn down the ego, please. Yeah America, your great, but you may also want to mention the screw ups in some place. But if Michelle says that America is the best country ever founded, well then that must be true!

I thought christianity was about loving your neighbors and helping people, not refusing to wear a Gaby Gifford Ribbon (Chelle did, oh yes!) Please, stick to your principles! And remember, the world continues behind the Atlantic and the Pacific, sometimes there's more at stake than just your taxes.
